Melissa was born July 12, 1988 in Calgary, Canada. She was working at a day care center prior to her success in Canadian Idol. After winning, she not only was able to make a living as a singer but also had several television appearances. Her biggest role to date is probably Portia Lin aka Two on sci-fi series Dark Matter.
